I seldom get hooked on games anymore, but Angry Birds has definitely been an exception... For the past weeks or so, Marjaana and I have passed time in plane terminals, bus stops, trains, etc. with this super addictive iPhone game. The gameplay is simple and the plot as straightforward as it gets – kill pigs! – and you find yourself laughing out loud several times due to berserk moves or your own clumsiness.

The idea, in its simplicity, is to slingshot different sorts of birds at hogs, hiding in various places. Different birds have different unique skills; some explode, some act as boomerangs, you get the idea. :) Anyways, just wanted to pass good things forward, this game is warmly recommended.

My Flight copies arrived today and I must say the book looks damn fine. It's seriously difficult to name a favourite, Bannister's Career Day had me laughing out loud, Justin Gerard's Live Bait sent the shivers down my neck, and I spent ages admiring Leland Myrick's artwork and timing in Sustain This Song. But like I said, I have no favourites. I warmly suggest you seek this book and have good read, there's a lot of love, devotion and fantastic expertise in storytelling, all bound in 288 pages.

It's just around the corner, folks. The new volume of Flight is coming out on the 20th of July. The seventh volume might be our strongest yet, and it features art from your old favorites Kazu Kibuishi, Bannister, Dave Roman and Cory Godbey, and some pretty damn awesome stories from new alumni Justin Gerard, Jason Caffoe and Leland Myrick, just to name a few.
